Israeli forces neutralised the assailant near the Ariel settlement. Hamas described the attack as a heroic operation.
In Gaza, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 40 Palestinians, including casualties in the Nuseirat refugee camp and Beit Lahiya. Medics recovered 19 bodies from northern Nuseirat and more fatalities were reported across Gaza. Israeli military operations disrupted rescue efforts as tanks entered and withdrew from northern Nuseirat.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem declared a "great victory" in Lebanon following a ceasefire. He emphasised coordination with the Lebanese army to enhance defensive capabilities. Separately, the Israeli army reported targeting a Hezbollah rocket launcher in southern Lebanon, citing ceasefire violations.
In Israel, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi hinted at resignation after October 7 attack investigations, pledging accountability and personal decisions once the probe concludes.

,1,Iran’s state television interrupted its regular news broadcast to announce that Seyyed Razi Mousavi had been killed, describing him as one of the most experienced IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) advisers in Syria.
The semi-official Tasnim news agency said Mousavi was "an experienced military adviser" to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.
It was reported that he was killed in an air strike in the Sayyida Zeinab area southeast of Damascus.
Israel has carried out military strikes in Syria for years, against what it says are Iran-linked targets.
The strikes have increased in frequency over the past months following Hamas' attack on 7 October.

The icebreaker RSV Nuyina left from Tasmania last week, the Australian Antarctic Program (AAP) said.
It is travelling thousands of miles to reach the station after an air rescue was ruled out due to harsh conditions.
The AAP said the researcher, an Australian, needs specialist treatment but did not name the condition.
