Chicago Gang History | WARZONE to PEACE | 62nd & Carpenter (No Good) The “LM” Story | Hood Vlog

From the heart of Chicago’s South Side — 62nd & Carpenter, once labeled “No Good” — comes a powerful story of transformation, redemption, and unity. In this EyeOfTheTrenches hood vlog, “LM” opens up about his life in the Carpenter Park area of Englewood, a neighborhood that for decades was one of the most active gang zones in Chicago. Once surrounded by conflicts between sets tied to Gangster Disciples, Black Disciples, and Black P. Stones, this area became known for deadly rivalries, survival, and lost generations. Throughout the late 80s, 90s, and 2000s, Carpenter Park and the 62nd–63rd corridor saw a rise in neighborhood wars, street legends, and cycles of retaliation that shaped the identity of Englewood. But today, many of those same blocks are trying to rewrite their story — moving from warzone to peace through mentorship, unity programs, and voices like LM’s. ? In this episode, witness: • The real gang history and evolution of Englewood’s “No Good” area • LM’s transformation from the trenches to peace leadership • The new generation’s push for unity and rebirth in Carpenter Park ? Location: Englewood, Chicago — 62nd & Carpenter (Carpenter Park Area) ?
