,1,Unverified videos show the moment a notorious Mexican cartel boss was arrested.
José Alberto García Vilano, with the alias ‘La Kena’, was seized in an upmarket shopping plaza on the outskirts of Monterrey.
He allegedly leads the Los Ciclones faction of the Gulf Cartel, one of the largest drug-smuggling organisations in Mexico.
Vilano’s cartel was linked to the kidnapping of four US citizens in March 2023, who crossed the border from Texas to Matamoros for cosmetic surgery.
Americans Zindell Brown and Shaeed Woodard were killed, while a female bystander was also killed by a stray bullet.
After Vilano’s arrest, Mexican authorities said he was “one of the main targets of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)”.
