Desert Point is home to one of the most famous surf barrels in the world. A notoriously isolated and dangerous surf spot, it's accessed by an extremely bumpy, unpaved road which leads to a set of simple lodges. With no wifi, showers or western toilets, it's not the most comfortable stay but it is extremely beautiful and if you're into surfing, it's hard to compete with this wave! We spent 3 days there watching the surfers, tending to their wounds (of which there were many), playing with the kids and the many animals and exploring the beautiful black sand beaches. Just don't go swimming during a swell as you'll probably get killed!
