Instead, they spread false narratives about Donald Trump’s alleged ties to Russia and Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election. Nate Cane blew the whistle, but as expected for national security whistleblowers, his life was almost ruined – facing the risk of being prosecuted under the Espionage Act.
