,1,Why are two old, unpopular men the main candidates for the world’s most demanding job? It’s the question John Prideaux, The Economist’s US editor, gets asked the most. And the answer lies in the peculiar politics of the baby boomers.
Since 1992, every American president bar one has been a white man born in the 1940s. That run looks likely to span 36 years - not far off the age of the median American. This cohort was born with aces in their pockets. Their parents defeated Nazism and won the cold war. They hit the jobs market at an unmatched period of wealth creation. They have benefitted from giant leaps in technology, and in racial and gender equality.
And yet, their last act in politics sees the two main parties accusing each other of wrecking American democracy. As the boomers near the end of their political journey, John Prideaux sets out to make sense of their inheritance and their legacy.
Launching July 2024.

,1,We begin with the threat to the home front. While the U.S. is providing billions of dollars worth of emergency military and humanitarian aid to Israel and Ukraine amid their wars, there's heightened concern at home. The FBI, Homeland Security, and the National Counterterrorism Center recently issued an advisory to state and local law enforcement. It said that lone offenders inspired by, or reacting to, the ongoing war between Israel and the Islamic extremist terrorist group Hamas pose the most likely threat to Americans. Factor in the porous southern border, and some analysts say it’s a recipe for disaster. Today, we ask one expert what can be done. Ken Cuccinelli was deputy Homeland Security chief under President Trump and a former senior official at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

,1,Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s run for president might be seen as a logical extension of an American political dynasty. His uncle was President John F. Kennedy. His father was attorney general and presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy. Both were assassinated. Another uncle was a lion of the Democrat party, Senator Ted Kennedy. But this Kennedy is running a very different race than his family forefathers. Shunned by his own party, refused Secret Service protection by the Biden administration, Kennedy says he’s being forced to consider a giant move: leaving his political party. If he does, it stands to upend campaign 2024 in an unexpected way. Could he draw enough votes away from the two nominees to make a difference? We spoke with Kennedy in New Jersey.

Trump's Truths from November 22, 2022 regarding his feelings toward former Attorney General Bill Barr
Subscribe for the latest updates!
Full text: Sloppy Bill Barr was a weak and ineffective Attorney General who was fired (he didn’t quit!), and now he’s nothing more than a disgruntled former “employee.” Barr was a “Bushie” who was petrified of being Impeached, which the Dems were going to do until he changed course on the [redacted] Election. He knows nothing about the Document Hoax, & as a lawyer & former A.G., shouldn’t be talking. Weak RINO Bill Barr always caved to the Dems, & is a disgrace to the Republican Party, & our Nation!
