Is it possible that a Polynesian tribe existed in Antarctica? We explore the oral history of the Maori in New Zealand as recorded in a book from 1904 to find out. The early Polynesians and later Maori were expert travelers of the sea and could find land in the middle of the vast pacific ocean by following the stars and natural patterns of the earth. They no doubt knew of the giant continent to the south of them, Antarctica and traveled there on at least several occasions. It is challenging to conduct archaeological studies in Antarctica so evidence for this settlement has gone unnoticed. However the Native Maori in New Zealand, The Cook Islands, the Tonga Islands, and many more around the pacific know the truth of the antarctic history and of the early Polynesian voyages to Antarctica.

Across all mythologies, folklore, and legends we find a similar story. This mythological tale is one of a forbidden land hidden from the rest of humanity and ancient civilization. In the mythologies only the gods and Demi-gods could reach these hidden lands. Mortal man was forbidden. However we do find some stories of individuals of great ancestors or privilege being allowed admission. We find these histories and folklore in Chinese history, in Greek myths, ancient Egyptian history, among Native American history, from ancient European cultures as well, and in Tibetan Buddhist teachings. This idea of a hidden land where magical beings live is also extremely popular in modern literature and art. Going back to our early modern history, Jules vern’s journey to the center of the earth where explorers travel through a dormant volcano to reach a hidden realm within the earth, or in dc comics wonder woman in the 1940s where a super powerful race of women live in a magical realm only accessible with various phenomenon and abilities. as well as marvel’s Shang chi in the 1970s where there is a secret village hidden from the rest of the world where the gods teach man super powerful forms of material arts. And there are many other examples. But where are these other worldly locations? And how did ancient man reach them or know about them?

Giant lakes bigger than any on earth today existed in North America 10,000 years ago and their draining lead to cataclysms and great floods. Nearly every Native America tribe speaks of these greats floods in their flood myths and mythology. If we follow the oral history of the Native Americans it leads us to the the younger dryas period and a time of great cataclysm, the ancient apocalypse that caused much of North America to sink underwater.
