One of the hot topics this election season: social security. Currently, Americans can begin receiving Social Security benefits as early as age 62. But they are entitled to all of their benefits when they reach their full retirement age, which is 66 to 67 depending on a person’s birth year. On the campaign trail, former President Donald Trump and others have accused presidential candidate and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley of wanting to change that. During a town hall with Fox News on Jan. 10 Trump claimed Haley “wanted to raise the [retirement] age from 65 to 74 [or] 75.” And before he dropped out of the race, a campaign account connected to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis posted a video of Haley saying 65 is too low for retirement. VERIFY reader Laurie emailed us to ask if Haley said she wants to raise the retirement age if elected president.

His father, President Joe Biden repeatedly promised he would not pardon his son. But just weeks before Hunter Biden’s scheduled sentencing, the president changed his mind. On December 1, the president pardoned him for those crimes --- and any others he may have committed in the last decade. Now people are curious about how broad presidential pardons can be. Ariane Datil explains what our reporting found.

,1,VERIFY has been getting a lot of questions about the popular energy drink Celsius.
We previously confirmed a form of vitamin B12 used in Celsius is not made from sludge found at human sewage treatment plants. We also found the NCAA and the Olympics haven’t banned the drink because of its ingredients.
Several TikTok users have posted videos appearing to show the energy drink causing a positive drug test. Others posted videos questioning those claims. We put the drink to the test.
THE QUESTION
Does drinking Celsius cause a person to test positive for drugs?

The strike, carried out between November 9 and 10, 2024, involved the Marine Corps’ VMFA-314 squadron—also known as the “Black Knights”—stationed aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln supercarrier in the US Navy’s 5th Fleet Area of Responsibility (AOR).
The primary objective was to degrade Houthi capabilities, especially following a series of attacks on international commercial and military shipping by the Iran-backed militia. The Pentagon highlighted that these strikes aimed to prevent further unlawful targeting of vessels operating in these critical maritime zones.
In this video, Defense Updates analyzes how the F-35C’s combat debut demonstrates the U.S. military's battle edge ?
