Mexico City, where Dahua, one of China's leading security tech companies, is launching its products for the Mexican market. On offer here are the latest security cameras, equipped with thermal imaging, facial recognition, the ability to deploy security drones, and all interconnected through 5G technology and the so-called 'internet-of-things'. It's technology that is advancing fast into 'AIOT' - the Artificial Intelligence of Things. Yet in Mexico, that remains a challenge. Increasing 5G coverage in Mexico, and across Latin America as a whole, has been a slow process. Dimitri Flores is a 5G engineer in the telecommunications sector. However, he says that Chinese interest in the region is growing.
