,1,Florida governor Ron DeSantis has said that he is “not a candidate” when speaking about the 2024 US presidential election before a meeting with Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo.
The trip to Japan, officially part of a four-country trade mission, comes as DeSantis seeks to burnish foreign policy credentials ahead of an official announcement that he will run for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, expected later this year.
