,1,In September of 2023, Alistair Begg gave advice to a Christian grandmother that she should attend the wedding of her "transexual" homosexual grandson (or granddaughter - this changes with different tellings of the story) and even to give a gift in honor of it. This caused an immense controversy in evangelical circles. On January 28, in an evening service sermon (linked below), Alistair addressed the controversy and defended his advice. He largely employed the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15 as his scriptural defense.
