A British traveller told the Herald Sun she cancelled her stay at the Nana Backpacker Hostel after news a dozen people had been poisoned, including the tragic death of two Australian women Holly Bowles and Bianca Jones.
The British traveller claims staff in the town swept the incident under the rug and Laos authorities have since banned the sale and consumption of Tiger Vodka and Tiger Whisky.

Assange, 52, is expected to be sentenced to the more than five years he already served in a UK prison during an in-person court appearance Wednesday in Saipan, in the US Northern Mariana Islands, avoiding a potentially lengthy sentence in the US.
The plea agreement seeks to end an international fight to prosecute Assange that has been underway since sensitive US military documents, war logs and diplomatic cables were publicly leaked in 2010 and 2011, including footage of a US airstrike in Baghdad a few years earlier.
