,1,IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel has denied interfering in the investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes and confirmed whistleblowers who raised alarms about “preferential treatment” in the probe were taken off the assignment at request of the DOJ.
Attorney’s for the original whistleblower have told members of Congress their client, as well as the second whistleblower, were kicked off the investigation as “retaliation” for coming forward with concerns about the way it was being handled.
"I want to state unequivocally that I have not intervened – and will not intervene – in any way that would impact the status of any whistleblower,” Mr Werfel wrote in a letter obtained by Fox News.
"The IRS whistleblower you reference alleges that the change in their work assignment came at the direction of the Department of Justice.
