Example 1, Covid lab accident in China
https://oversight.house.gov/release/final-report-covid-select-concludes-2-year-investigation-issues-500-page-final-report-on-lessons-learned-and-the-path-forward/
COVID-19 ORIGIN: COVID-19 most likely emerged from a laboratory in Wuhan, China.
The FIVE strongest arguments in favor of the “lab leak” theory include:
1. The virus possesses a biological characteristic that is not found in nature.
2. Data shows that all COVID-19 cases stem from a single introduction into humans.
This runs contrary to previous pandemics where there were multiple spillover events.
3. Wuhan is home to China’s foremost SARS research lab, which has a history of conducting gain-of-function research at inadequate biosafety levels.
4. Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) researchers were sick with a COVID-like virus in the fall of 2019,
months before COVID-19 was discovered at the wet market.
5. By nearly all measures of science, if there was evidence of a natural origin it would have already surfaced.
PROXIMAL ORIGIN PUBLICATION:
“The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2” publication — which was used repeatedly by public health officials and the media to discredit the lab leak theory
— was prompted by Dr. Fauci to push the preferred narrative that COVID-19 originated in nature.

We support the call from the Director-General of WHO to promote scientific evidence and unity over misinformation and conjecture.
Conspiracy theories do nothing but create fear, rumours, and prejudice that jeopardise our global collaboration in the fight against this virus.
The rapid, open, and transparent sharing of data on this outbreak is now being threatened by rumours and misinformation around its origins.
We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin.
GAIN-OF-FUNCTION RESEARCH:
A lab-related incident involving gain-of-function research is most likely the origin of COVID-19.
Current government mechanisms for overseeing this dangerous gain-of-function research are incomplete, severely convoluted, and lack global applicability.
ECOHEALTH ALLIANCE INC. (ECOHEALTH):
EcoHealth — under the leadership of Dr. Peter Daszak
— used U.S. taxpayer dollars to facilitate dangerous gain-of-function research in Wuhan, China.
After the Select Subcommittee released evidence of EcoHealth violating the terms of its National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant,
the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) commenced official debarment proceedings and suspended all funding to EcoHealth.
• New evidence also shows that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has opened an investigation into EcoHealth’s pandemic-era activities.
NIH FAILURES:
NIH’s procedures for funding and overseeing potentially dangerous research are deficient, unreliable, and pose a serious threat to both public health and national security.
Further, NIH fostered an environment that promoted evading federal record keeping laws

Russia’s intervention in Syria’s civil war almost a decade ago turned the tide in Assad’s favor, but this time around his two biggest backers are stretched. Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is consuming Russian resources while Iran finds itself weakened by Israel’s sustained attacks on Hezbollah, the Tehran-backed militants in neighboring Lebanon.
It’s been four years since the conflict in Syria reached an uneasy stalemate. The country, which borders Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq and Jordan, had laid relatively dormant as the Middle East convulsed following the Oct. 7, 2023 massacre of Israelis by Hamas.

Although a handful of seats are yet to be filled, it is expected that Fianna Fáil will be the largest party with 48 seats, Fine Gael will have 38 TDs and Sinn Féin will 39 seats.
With a likely total of 86 seats, Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael will be within touching distance of the 87 seats needed for a majority in the new Dáil.
Although Galway West TD Mairéad Farrell believes the party could still end up in Government, Irish Independent Political Correspondent John Downing thinks the numbers are against the party.
“The figures don’t add up,” he told Breakfast Briefing.
“Certainly, Sinn Féin went into this election in very bad shape and had, in real terms, a rather good election - given the shape they were in as they entered it.
“[Government], it’s not going to happen.”
Following the near total wipeout of the Green Party, attention has turned towards the Labour Party and the Social Democrats are potential Government partners.
It would be, Mr Downing believes, a “problematic” coalition for several reasons.
“Things are going to have to be ratified by the membership - whatever deals are made,” he said.
“The other difficulty is that we have, effectively, two labour parties; there’s the Labour Party and the Social Democrats - which is just another word for a Labour Party - and they’re going to be watching each other like hawks, pushing and over.
“If one crowd goes in and the other stays out - that’s a recipe for disaster for the crowd who go in.
“The smaller party who goes into a coalition Government is effectively feeding itself into the political mill.”

Over 1,300 Israeli civilians have just been massacred. While the population thought it was safe behind its walls, its iron dome and its barbed wire, protected by its invincible army, the country is undergoing an unprecedented attack. At the helm is a terrorist group: Hamas. An Islamist faction that no one, least of all Israeli believed capable of such an operation. So who are these men, with their green bandanas, capable of such atrocities? Who are the organization’s supporters? How did they manage to plan this attack?
With the help of leading experts, we investigate the rise of Hamas. Founded in the late 80s from Muslim resistance groups, the organisation won popular legitimacy in Gaza. We investigate its leaders, in particular the coordinator of the “al-Aqsa flood” attack: Mohammed Deïf. The Israeli security services have been tracking him relentlessly for three decades. The other mastermind of the organization is Ismaël Haniyeh, head of the political bureau. He has taken refuge in Qatar.
Thanks to the testimonies of former members of the Israeli intelligence services, we reveal the methods that enabled Hamas to slip under the radar of the Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security service: underground caches, a network of dozens of kilometers of tunnels, old-fashioned communications, homemade rockets and also the use of modern technologies, such as drones and cyberattacks.
According to its former director, Ami Ayalon, the Shin Beth had relied solely on electronic surveillance to the detriment of human intelligence. We reveal the financial support Hamas received to carry out this operation. For years, the Iranians have been the terrorist movement’s main allies in its fight against Israel. In Lebanon, we interviewed a senior Hamas official who, a few days after the massacre, was delighted with the success of the operation.
We also look at the role of Qatar, which finances the movement to the tune of $30 million a month. per month. The terrorist nebula also relies on appeals for donations in crypto-currencies. The sums collected are enormous, more than $100 million between 2021 and 2023. Our investigation will finally take a closer look at the movement from the inside, and analyze its hold on the Gazan population. A population that has been imprisoned for years on this tiny strip of land, living in part under the yoke of the by the Islamist organization.
In Egypt, we caught up with a Hamas opponent who fled Gaza in 2021 after spending two hundred days in the terrorist group’s jails. He tells us about the group’s hold over the civilian population, the recruitment of young people and the terrorist group’s propaganda methods.

After more than two years of Ukraine holding back Russia's invasion, this summer Kyiv flipped the script and sent its troops marching into Russia. Using Western weapons and tactics to devastating effect, Ukrainian troops captured more territory in just a few weeks than Russia had taken in the preceding months. Putin was forced to pull troops out of Ukraine to rush back and defend the homeland and, when that failed to get the Ukrainians out, he had to turn to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un for help.

They said he couldn’t fly.
But as he soars over Maryland at the controls of a Bell UH-1 “Huey” helicopter, Robert Preston is determined to prove them wrong.
Skillfully maneuvering his way through the night sky, the 20-year-old US Army private smiles as he imagines himself on a daring mission over with the boys in Vietnam.
But on this cold February night in 1974, Preston isn’t dodging the Viet Cong - he’s dodging the cops. Having stolen the Huey from an unguarded airfield, he’s taking it for a wild joyride. Now, two different police departments and the Secret Service are out to stop him.
Yet with masterful changes of velocity, direction, and altitude,Preston outsmarts the helicopters and squad cars on his back time and time again.
Grinning to himself, the young private changes course once more.
Next stop: The White House…

The pen. The clink. The slammer. The joint. The cooler. The nick. The big house. The hoosegow. Whatever you call it, it is the place most of us dread ending up: prison. A central pillar of our modern justice system, prisons loom large in the popular imagination, inspiring whole genres of literature, music, and film; and even entire schools of philosophical thought. They are entire insular worlds unto themselves, potent symbols for the nature of freedom, justice, and humanity itself. But more than just institutions or buildings, prisons are also a form of technology, whose function is to contain, control, and - hopefully - reform and rehabilitate large numbers of people as efficiently as possible. As a result, over the past two centuries prison design has seen plenty of innovation, ranging from the practical to the ingenious to the downright bizarre. And few prison designs were stranger than an 1880s contraption that enclosed its prisoners in what can only be described as a giant rotating squirrel cage. While several of these innovative structures were constructed across the midwestern United States, they proved impractical and reliable, and became but a minor yet fascinating footnote in the history of criminal justice. This is the strange tale of the rotary jail.
